Generating and printing QR codes

Every asset, job, and item in Tero.Ops has a unique QR code. Print it, stick it on the physical item, and field crews can scan to jump to the right record in seconds.

Where to find the QR code

On any asset’s detail page, look for the QR code panel on the right (or under “More actions” on mobile).

QR code panel on an asset

You’ll see a preview of the QR plus three actions:

  • Download PDF — a print-ready sheet
  • Copy link — for emailing or messaging
  • Print — opens the browser print dialog

Downloading the PDF

Click Download PDF. You get a single A4 sheet with the QR code in the centre, the asset name above, and the asset number below.

For sticking on equipment you’ll usually want smaller labels:

SizeUse
50 × 50 mmSmall components — pumps, valves, sensors
100 × 100 mmMid-size — engines, panels
A5 / A4Vessel-level or operator stations

Print onto durable label stock (vinyl or polyester) for marine/industrial environments — standard paper won’t survive.

Best places to put QR stickers

  • At eye level when the operator is in working position
  • Away from heat sources and moving parts
  • Where lighting is good — under poor light, even a clean QR is slow to scan
  • Wipe-able surface — grease and salt destroy unprotected stickers fast

Bulk QR generation

For a new worksite or vessel with hundreds of assets, generating QRs one at a time is impractical. Use Worksite settings → Bulk QR export to download a single PDF with every asset’s QR on it.
