Recurring jobs and templates
A repeating schedule does not live on a job. It lives on the job template behind it. The template holds the recurrence rule; the jobs you see on the Jobs page are what it produced. That is the thing to change when a schedule needs to change.
The recurrence rule
In the template’s Schedule section, Recurrence trigger offers three choices:

There is no “does not repeat” option here — work that happens once is created as a plain job with a due date, not as a template. See Creating a one-time job.
Pausing a schedule
Every template is either Active or Paused. Open Job Templates (on the Jobs page, click View schedules) and click the pause icon (two vertical bars) on the template’s row; a paused template shows Paused in place of Active. To put it back, click the play icon (a right-pointing triangle), Activate.
This is how you take a schedule out of service without deleting it — useful when an asset is laid up. The template, its rule and its history are all kept.

Creating a job from a template now
Generate Job creates a job from the template on demand, without waiting for the schedule. Find it by clicking the three vertical dots (⋮) at the start of the template’s row, or as the lightning-bolt icon at the top of the template’s side panel. It needs permission to create jobs.

Changing a schedule from a job
If you have a job open and want the change to apply to the whole schedule rather than that one job, click the edit-document icon (Edit All Occurrences) at the top of the job’s side panel. It opens the template behind the job, so what you save there governs future occurrences.
The icon only works on jobs that came from a template — on a one-off job it’s greyed out, since there is nothing behind it to edit — and it needs permission to update job templates.
Editing the job itself changes only that job. Editing the template changes what comes next.
