Creating a project

A project bundles related work — a drydock, an overhaul, an equipment upgrade — so it can be tracked as a single piece of operations. Each project has its own timeline, contractor, and a list of work requests rolled into it.

Opening the new-project form

In the sidebar, Projects → Project lists. Click Add project.

New project form

Project details

  • Project name — short, distinctive (“Akurey drydock 2026 Q3”)
  • Description — what the project is for and why
  • Categories (optional) — tags

Timeline

  • Start date — when work begins
  • End date — when the project is due to close

Adding work requests

The reason to use projects (rather than just a list of jobs) is to bundle work requests. Click Add work request to add an existing request to the project, or create a new request and link it.

Adding work requests to a project

Each work request inside the project tracks separately but rolls up to the project status.

Assigning a contractor

If the work is being done by external contractors, set:

  • Contractor — the company doing the work
  • Contractor ID — their reference for this engagement

This makes their work visible in their own contractor-scoped view of Tero.

Saving

Click Save. The project lands in the project list. From here you can monitor progress, add work requests over time, and move the project through its lifecycle states.
