Inventory requests

An inventory request is how the field tells the office, “we need this part.” Requests flow from the technician’s portal to the procurement officer’s queue, where they can be approved, converted to a purchase order, or sourced from another worksite.

Submitting a request (technician view)

From the portal or an asset’s parts list, tap Request part. See Requesting an inventory part for the full walk-through.

Approving a request (admin view)

Procurement officers see all pending requests in Procurement → Requests.

Inventory request from the admin perspective

For each request, the admin can:

  • Approve — accept the request as-is
  • Edit — adjust quantity, supplier, or notes before approving
  • Reject — close with a comment explaining why
  • Convert to PO — bundle this and other requests into a purchase order

Converting a request into a PO

Click Convert to PO on one or more pending requests. Tero pre-fills the PO with the items, quantities, and a suggested supplier (the last one used for that item). You finalise the PO before sending.

Converting an inventory request into a PO

The request stays linked to the PO so the requester can see “your part is on its way” from the PO’s status.

Cross-worksite sourcing

If another worksite has the part in stock, the admin can route the request as an inter-worksite transfer rather than a new purchase. This is faster and cheaper for parts you already own.
