Working on a job

A job is a unit of maintenance work — service an engine, replace a seal, inspect a pump. It has a description, an assigned technician, a due date, and a checklist of tasks to complete.

Opening a job

Find the job from one of:

  • My Tasks — your assigned jobs in the portal
  • Jobs — the full list under Maintenance for supervisors
  • The asset page — every asset shows the jobs scheduled against it
  • Scanning a printed job QR

The job detail page opens.

The header

The header card shows:

  • Title and description — what needs doing
  • Priority — High / Medium / Low (colored badge)
  • Status — Not Started, Started, Paused, Completed, or Cancelled
  • Due date — when this job is due
  • Asset — the asset this job is for (click to jump to it)
  • Assigned to — the technician responsible
  • Estimated time — supervisor’s estimate of hours required

The checklist

If the job has subtasks, they appear as a checklist below the header. Tap a row to mark it done.

Job checklist with items

You don’t have to complete subtasks in order. They’re a guide, not a gate — but the parent job can’t be marked complete until all required subtasks are done.

Starting the job

Click Start Task to flip status from Not Started to Started. This:

  • Records who started it and when
  • Starts a clock on the time-spent counter
  • Lets your supervisor see that work is in progress

If you’re interrupted, click Pause. Pick up later with Resume.

Comments and attachments

Use the Comments tab to leave notes for the next shift or for your supervisor. Comments are timestamped and attributed to you.

Attach photos, PDFs, or other files in the Attachments section. Images, videos, and PDFs up to 50MB are supported.

Marking subtasks complete

For each subtask:

  • Tap the row to expand
  • Optionally add notes specific to that subtask
  • Tap the checkbox to mark done

When you finish the last required subtask, click Complete at the top of the page to open the completion form — see Recording job completion.
